Las Tortas is the brainchild of Guillermo Campillo and Tymen Schreuder, two long-term friends in the Denver area.  Guillermo is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico.  A few years ago, he took his friend Tymen to Guadalajara and introduced him to the famous “Torta.”  Tymen fell in love with the Torta and together, the two began the process of bringing authentic Mexican Tortas to Colorado.

 

Las Tortas recipes come from Guillermo’s family kitchen in Guadalajara, Mexico.  Guillermo’s Aunt Maru even came to the US for a visit from Mexico to help create authentic Mexican sauces for the delicious “Tortas Ahogadas” (smothered Tortas in mild and hot sauces).

 

Our meats at Las Tortas are freshly prepared. We marinate our chicken, steak, and pork in a delicious orange-lime-chipotle sauce, adding a distinct flavor to our Tortas. Our milanesa is specially marinated in a creamy herb sauce and hand-breaded. We slice our tomatoes and onions daily, and scoop out slices of fresh avocado when we prepare your Torta.  Our own authentic chipotle sauce tops off your Torta. Try our Guadalajaran specialty Tortas — the Torta Ahogada and Torta Gema—for a taste of our other authentic sauces made in-house.
